Political influence and lobbying activities
Heinzel Group recognizes its responsibility to contribute to a sustainable and circular economy. As a leading company in the pulp and paper industry, Heinzel Group is actively involved in advocacy and policy dialogue to promote positive environmental and social outcomes.For example, the group participates in Austropapier, the association of the Austrian paper industry. It participates in different environmental-related committees, and it is a board member and head of the sustainability and communication committee. The Group also participates in CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) and its Design for Recycling Task Forces to support and shape regulatory frameworks that enable circular, fiber-based production and recycling. In addition, Heinzel Group is actively involved in Container Board Europe, for example in the development of a Europe-wide climate transition plan for the entire sector. Furthermore, the CEO of Heinzel Group currently serves as president of the association. As a member of EPIS (the European Pulp Industry Sector), Heinzel Group supports the forest-fiber sector’s role in achieving the EU’s climate neutrality targets by 2050, emphasizing sustainable sourcing, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity protection. The Group is also active in different CEPI committees, the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO), EUROSAC, EPSI (European Pulp Industry Sector) etc. as well as in local associations.Heinzel Group maintains open and transparent dialogue with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and non-governmental organizations to ensure the sector's transition to sustainability aligns with global and European goals.During the financial year 2025 Heinzel Group was involved in lobbying activities.
