Resource outflows (products and waste)

Resource outflows include all manufactured and traded products in the form of pulp, paper, waste paper, wood and other products. As the main products produced by Heinzel Group companies can be recycled into new products of the same or similar quality (kraft paper, containerboard and wood), the overall rate is already more than 95%. Since 2024, the recyclability of own produced paper grades was also verified by an external institute. In addition, most of the traded goods (such as waste paper, paper products and pulp) can also be recycled on a large scale. The amount of total products decreased based on the low market demand.Note on the disclosure of the expected durability: Durability is difficult to measure for paper products as it depends on handling, storage, and application-specific needs. Since the main paper applications are designed for short-term use, traditional durability assessments are less relevant. Therefore Heinzel Group’s metrics focus on the use of recycled and/or renewable materials, as well as recyclability properties of produced goods. In terms of waste, the waste generated by Heinzel Group’s own production facilities is mainly considered, as the waste generated by office operations is not material to the business model. However the waste generated by Europapier was newly added to the metric, including previous years.Overall, the amount of overall waste generated decreased compared to 2024, primarily due to the completion of construction-related activities at the Steyrermühl site and the generally lower production levels in 2025.
