Actions and resources related to resource use and circular economy

In 2025, Heinzel Group advanced its circular economy approach further by improving the efficient use of renewable raw materials, developing new grades from recycled fibers, and reducing waste at its production sites. A significant achievement was converting the PM11 paper machine to produce containerboard, strengthening the group's circular packaging portfolio and reducing energy and chemical consumption. The group expanded its recycling capacity through new fiber processing technologies and implemented several initiatives to reduce chemical consumption, minimize waste generation, and return materials to production cycles. Research and collaboration projects supported these efforts by addressing challenging residual materials and developing new circular pathways for by-products. In order to adhere to the principles of responsible sourcing and the circular economy, the following actions were implemented or further developed in 2025:
